What is HTML and CSS?In this course, we are going to jump right in and create a web page using Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and then add Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) later. But before you start designing and making things look all pretty, you need to learn the language that exists in the background of a web page. When you build a house you start with a blueprint, then you start framing and building the structure. Interior design and landscaping happen in the final phases to make it all aesthetically pleasing. The same process happens in web design. You start with a sketch or a comp in Photoshop (blueprint), you then write the HTML code (framing & building). Finally, you give it a unified look (CSS).
As you can see, both HTML and CSS are the codes that exist behind the scenes of a web page. We are going to start by creating a simple HTML page using a text editor and progress to CSS using Dreamweaver.
