Color in Web DesignColor is one of the first elements a visitor will see on a website. Good use of color can define a product or service, convey an emotion, or brand a product. As a designer, you need to be aware of the different color models. If you are designing for print, you use CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). For web design, you use RGB (red, green, blue) color model.
Note: When you are designing for the web, set your image editing programs (Photoshop and Illustrator) colors to RGB since the end result of your design will be displayed on a computer monitor or screen. Use CMYK for printed material only
How to use Color EffectivelyBefore selecting colors, you need to ask the following questions:
Color can give a web page personality. Color by itself can convey a message by just being...well, a color. There is actually a psychology behind color that marketing firms and psychologists have defined. There is a reason IBM uses blue and Target uses red in their logos. Can you tell me why?
